For the Bush Booth, I had footage of George W. Bush listening, not speaking, edited into a six-hour loop. I built a soundproofed booth to house a monitor displaying this footage, and entrants were invited to express themselves to the artificially contemplative Bush.
Between 2002 and 2004, The Bush Booth appeared at galleries throughout New York City, Chicago, and Amsterdam.
The Booth was never meant to bash Bush (too easy). You could praise the listening G.W. if you wanted. Instead, it was a fun reminder that we elect our representaives to hear us, not the other way around.
